ContactRelay

Terms

ContactRelay terms

These plain-language terms explain how ContactRelay should be used.

Allowed use

ContactRelay is for legitimate contact-update messages, such as a lost phone, changed number, or changed email address. You may only use ContactRelay to notify contacts with whom you have an existing personal, professional, or business relationship.

You may not use ContactRelay for purchased lists, scraped lists, rented lists, borrowed lists, cold outreach, lead generation, unsolicited promotional messages, political messaging, harassment, debt collection, spam, fraud, impersonation, misleading identity claims, or illegal activity.

SMS consent and opt-out

ContactRelay sends user-initiated, one-time contact update notifications. The sender is responsible for selecting recipients who know them and for making sure each SMS recipient has given permission to receive this specific update, or has an existing relationship where the update is expected, lawful, truthful, and appropriate for the relationship.

SMS permission is confirmed separately in the sender review flow. SMS is not selected by default. Before SMS can send, the sender must actively select SMS recipients, choose an SMS consent basis, and check an unchecked attestation confirming recipient permission and no prohibited lists. This SMS consent is not bundled into these Terms.

ContactRelay does not sell, rent, buy, transfer, or accept SMS opt-in consent, mobile numbers, or messaging consent data from third parties or affiliates for marketing, lead generation, or promotional use.

SMS messages identify ContactRelay, link to a secure contact-card page, and include Reply STOP to opt out and Reply HELP for help. ContactRelay records SMS opt-outs when supported by the configured messaging provider.

Message frequency varies based on the sender's selected relay. Each relay is designed as a one-time contact update. Message and data rates may apply.

Payments and Relay Tokens

Paid Relay Tokens are one-time campaign credits that can be used from your account. One Relay Token covers one send event of your selected contact list. Unused contact capacity does not roll over into multiple smaller sends. Relay Tokens may include overage charges based on contact count. Tokens never expire, but tokens are not refundable after 30 days.

Vault membership

Vault membership is an optional monthly feature for storing selected contacts so future relays can be started faster. Basic membership is $4.99/month. Pro membership is planned at $14.99/month with one included Relay Token, 15% off future tokens while active, and lower overage pricing. Relay sends still use the one-time campaign fees unless tokens are included with a membership plan or purchased separately.

Recipient safety

ContactRelay uses tokenized links and does not publish recipient lists. Recipients can report suspicious messages. No web service can promise perfect security, but ContactRelay is designed to limit public exposure of campaign data.

Delivery limits and carrier filtering

ContactRelay is designed to send campaign messages gradually, around 20 emails or SMS messages per minute, to reduce the risk that an update looks like unsolicited messaging. Email providers, mobile carriers, device spam filters, and recipients may still delay, block, filter, or flag messages or phone numbers. ContactRelay does not guarantee delivery, inbox placement, SMS acceptance, or that a phone number will not be marked as spam.

You use ContactRelay at your own risk and are responsible for making sure your campaign is lawful, truthful, permission-based where required, and appropriate for the recipients you choose.
